What is a Claude skill?
A Claude skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file of instructions, plus optional scripts and templates, that teaches Claude to do one task well, such as filling PDF forms or writing in your brand style. Claude loads it only when the task needs it, so you can install many without slowing it down.
How to choose one
Start with Official skills for common document work. For anything else, check three things on the item page: the licence, the date of the last update and the security result. A skill runs with the same access as Claude itself, so read its SKILL.md before you install it.

Questions
people ask.
Where do Claude skills work?
In the Claude apps, Claude Code and the Claude API. In the apps you upload the skill folder in settings; in Claude Code you place it in your skills directory.
What is the difference between a skill and an MCP server?
A skill teaches Claude how to do a task. An MCP server gives Claude access to a tool or data source. They are often used together: the MCP server reaches your CRM and the skill explains how your team wants the data handled.
Is it safe to install what I find here?
Every listed item passed an automatic scan for credential theft, hidden instructions to the AI and risky install commands, and comes from a licensed, active project. That lowers the risk but does not remove it. Read the code and check the permissions before you connect anything to company data.
