What it does

Cortex gives Claude Code persistent memory inspired by neuroscience. Memories decay over time, are consolidated, pass through a predictive-coding write gate and are added through lifecycle hooks. It stores data in a local SQLite file by default, or in PostgreSQL with pgvector, and needs no account or API key.

Use cases

  1. 01Keep fixes and decisions across coding sessions
  2. 02Inspect what the memory retrieved for a task
  3. 03Store project context in a local database
