What it does

Srclight builds a searchable index of a codebase using SQLite FTS5, tree-sitter parsing and embeddings. AI coding agents can query the index for symbol search, call graphs, git change history and semantic search over the code, without relying on many grep commands and file reads. The index is built and queried on your own machine.

Use cases

  1. 01Find every caller of a function before changing it
  2. 02Map the modules and relationships of an unfamiliar repository
  3. 03Search code by meaning, not only by keyword
